But this is true to real life as well, it's not easy to defend against a driver that has DRS, especially on some tracks it's damn near impossible. But if they are close enough, they will pass. If the chasing car isn't quite close enough you can keep them behind you. Defending in a DRS zone feels much more realistic now compared to before. At least on most tracks I've played on since 1.8 patch there isn't as many constant overtakes as there used to be. ![]() Originally posted by saberhagen83:I don't know. But, it's way too overpowered, bordering on comical at some tracks. I wonder if they can't slow it down as the cars just won't pass. Given the trouble some of the cars have over taking each other. IF the devs don't fix it, hopefully we'll get a mod. More so than any tire management.įor me, it's the last hurdle the game needs to pass to get proper F1 strategy in race day. When you get some of the worse tracks like Bahrain it's 'all' about DRS strategy and luck. Honestly, there's so many little annoyances with gameplay that are made worse by OP DRS. The car one place further back might go past them on DRS and be 0.6 behind you from being 2 or more seconds further back. If you go on softs and clear a 1.5 second gap to the car behind. You won't catch them even if they're on hards. If you come out of the pits on softs and you're not part of a DRS train. So, you inevitably end up going long and one stopping. ![]() As, you can put fresh softs on and be slower than old hards that are part of a DRS train. Mabee deploy early to stay there.īut, means you never want to stop for fresh tires all the time you're clinging on to faster cars DRS. If you're not the quickest car, you try and avoid going really short for the first stint and aim to cling on to DRS as long as possible.Īs, the goal is to be there as long as possible. But I like playing with the DRS effect and try to gain an advantage out of it.It's the same every time. Of course DRS is overpowered compared to reality, but from my point of view it really gives an interesting tactical dimension to the game.
